Superstar Forever: Nora Aunor turns 60
She’ll always be Elsa to us.
May is a landmark month for Superstar Nora Aunor.
Edwin P. Sallan of InterAksyon.com reports that on May 10, the statue based on Elsa, her iconic character in Ishmael Bernal's Himala, was unveiled in Paoay, Ilocos Norte. Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, who is also one of the producers of Himala, had it built for her.
On May 17, she was the guest of honor during the special screening of Banaue by the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film (SOFIA) as part of the ongoing centennial celebration of its late director and National Artist Gerardo de Leon.
Then, her so-called rift with actor Coco Martin got resolved. Martin dismissed allegations that the Superstar was asking him for money.
To top it all off, Aunor is starring in her third indie flick.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer reports, "After Adolfo Alix Jr.'s Padre de Familia and Perci Intalan's Dementia, Nora Aunor starts shooting her third indie film this year, Alix's Whistleblower (Silbato)."
