Manong Johnny to his haters: "I’m still around and alive"

The architect of Philippine martial law explains how he’s the architect of his own "happiness."

We can almost see him doing the Moonwalk as he says all these things.

In an article by ABS-CBN News correspondent Willard Cheng, Senator Juan Ponce Enrile revealed that he’s not worried about the developments in the the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam probe.

Despite his name appearing on alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles’ list, Enrile seems unfazed.

"You get stressed out only if you are guilty, right? Why should I get stressed out? I know myself. I know what we did. My office, I think, is blameless although I respect the position of government. Some people have been talking about this thing for more than a year now and still they are muddled," he quipped.

The 90-year-old senator also shared the secret to his good mood: "I sleep nine hours. I exercise in the morning. I eat my breakfast. I’m sound asleep at night."

Besides, Enrile said, "I am confident that we will win this case." However, the report said he didn’t want to divulge the source of his bravado. "I will not tell you," he stated simply.

Enrile went on to say, "List or no list, it does not matter to me. So what if there is a list? I have a case pending against me. So I will attend to that case and I will deal with that case, I will study it and as I said, I’m confident that in a fair trial, I’ll have a fair chance of winning the case."

The bottom line, Enrile continued, is this: "Could they say anything more derogatory about me? All my life I have been subject to malignment. I'm still around and alive."
