Lost and Found: Milkfish Wash Up in Mandaluyong
Guess they’re having fish tonight.
A day after Typhoon Glenda swept into Manila and shut down the metropolis, bangus (milkfish) washed up near a pumping station of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority in Mandaluyong City.
Residents rushed to catch the milkfish, which they said could have come from fish pens in Laguna Lake that were damaged by the strong winds and rain.
"Buhay sila, nasa gilid ... Kaya lumulutang sila, hindi sila sanay sa tabang kaya pwede mo sila hulihin kahit kamay lang," said local resident Romeo Valencia.
He added that they planned to have the fish swim in water until they weaken, then prepare them for frying.
