Weather Update: Typhoon Jose Drops By

The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported on Sunday (August 3) that a new typhoon, locally named "Jose", entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday evening.
According to PAGASA, "Jose" was was spotted 1,250 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 195 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is not expected to make landfall but is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat.
As of now, no public storm signal has been raised.
