Celine Dion cancels her Manila tour
Fans of Celine Dion will have to wait a little longer to see her perform.
Inquirer.net reported on August 14 (Thursday) that Celine Dion’s much-awaited performance in Manila this November has been cancelled. Dion said in a statement that she cleared her calendar of all performances, citing that she needed to care for her health, her husband’s health, and raising their children.
"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," wrote Dion on her Facebook page. "I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."
Dion's husband, Rene Angelil, had a cancerous tumor removed from his throat in December, and she said in a statement that the struggle with the disease has taken a toll on her family.
The singer was scheduled to perform on November 29 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. It was unclear how long Dion’s hiatus would last.
