P-Noy on National Heroes’ Day: Watch out for fake reformists
His speech coincides with the call of the people protesting the pork barrel system
On Monday, President Aquino made a speech at Taguig in commemoration of National Heroes’ Day while protesters against "All Pork" gathered at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
In his speech, Aquino called for vigilance against "fake" reformists, or those who are only pretending to be fighting corruption.
Meanwhile, the people who gathered at the rally against "All Pork" dared P-Noy to sign their petition as proof that he is not a "fake" reformist either. Bayan Muna representative Neri Colmenares, in particular, spoke about discreet defenders of the pork barrel system, boldly saying, "If Pres. Aquino and his allies and supporters do not sign the people's initiative then he would truly be exposed as the primary defender of the pork barrel system."
