Makati City Hall Building 2 not world-class according to inspectors

It has linoleum floors

Senators Koko Pimentel and Antonio Trillanes led the ocular inspection of the purportedly overpriced building in Makati City on Monday (September 1) and concluded that it’s not "world-class" as the Binays claim.

A quantity surveyor, building officials from Makati, and DPWH engineers helped the senators conduct the inspection, where they noticed the use of linoleum (vinyl) instead of tiles on the office floors, the use of drywalls ("Hardiflex") instead of concrete, and the narrow elevators. The quantity surveyor, Greg Johnson, said, "It’s a modern building of ordinary standard. I wouldn’t say it’s world-class."

According to Senator Trillanes, they’ve been informed that the building’s worth can’t be more than P700 million. Meanwhile, Makati City Administrator Atty. Eleno Mendoza stood his ground and said that the Makati City Hall Building 2 underwent all the required reviews and the money spent on it was declared reasonable.
