COA returns P65.1 million funds received through DAP

Smooth move

In an interview published by GMA NewsCOA Chairperson Grace Pulido-Tan said that the agency has returned P65.1 million of the P136.5 million that it received from the Department of Budget and Management through the Disbursement Acceleration Program or DAP.

Tan explained that the money they received were used to fund software and hardware development, installing CCTV in regional offices, and hiring litigation lawyers. Tan further added that the leftover sum from the P136.5 million has been earmarked for other projects, but said, "’Di bale na, binalik nalang namin."

The transfer of funds to such "independent" agencies as COA was one of the points of contention for DAP.
