Billy Crawford has a meltdown, Coleen Garcia stands by her man
Charges have been pressed against the actor-host
InterAksyon.com reported that Billy Crawford had barged in and caused a scene at a police station in Taguig, only a few hours after the Star Magic Ball early Sunday morning. The actor-host admitted to being drunk and confirmed that he repeatedly hit a glass sliding door, but denied that he assaulted anyone. In a brief statement, published in GMA News, Crawford said, "It was my fault pero wala akong nasaktan, wala akong tinulak, wala akong tinamaan kundi ’yung salamin."
The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. and Crawford was reported to have been accompanied by three people, two of which were female friends-a fact that his girlfriend, Coleen Garcia, confirmed in a Tweet as reported by InterAksyon. Crawford’s official statement on the incident is also in the same report:
[Billy Crawfpord] admitted that he had been drinking and purposely went to the precinct to be in a "controlled environment" where he could be calmed down as he could not contain himself when he is under the influence of alcohol. He also revealed without elaborating that he had been "stressed out by certain situation."
In a tweet, Garcia urged their fans to "know the facts" before making conclusions and to resist putting malice on the stituation.
Meanwhile, Taguig police have pressed malicious mischief, direct assault, resisting arrest and disobedience to authority charges against Crawford. The officers present told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the actor-host apologized for the incident and explained that he did not want to be roaming around drunk, fearing that he might get into a fight. Senior Superintendent Arthur Asis also stated in the report that, contrary to Crawford’s claim, he "resisted, pushed, and elbowed" the female police officers who were trying to restrain him. The broken glass door, he said, was caused by this scuffle.
