Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno allegedly pocketed P77 million in real property tax
It’s the season of plunder complaints! Fa-la-la-la-la.
GMA News reported on Wednesday (September 10) that a plunder complaint has been filed against Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno and several other city officials. According to the documents submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman, P77 million in real property tax were funneled to Barangay 128.
The five barangay captains who filed the complaint accused the city council of redefining the jurisdiction of Barangay 128 to lubricate the flow of taxes from business and industrial establishments.
An interview with Moreno on the late night news program Saksi, wherein the vice mayor denied the allegations. Moreno said he is ready to face the charges.
