Final word: P-Noy doesn’t want to be a candidate in 2016
He is hoping that this stops the speculations
President Benigno Aquino III puts his foot down and "categorically" states that he is not going to run for re-election. The Philippine Star reported on Monday (September 15) that P-Noy spoke in a meeting with his allies over the weekend, telling them that he is not interested in extending his term despite the endorsements he has received from supporters. P-Noy also stated that it is too early to make his own endorsement.
Key people from the Liberal Party were present in the meeting, including DILG Secretary Mar Roxas. Also in attendance were political allies, members of civil society, non-government organizations and even members of militant organizations.
