ABS-CBN News reported early Friday morning that Tia Pusit had passed away, nearly a month after she underwent a double bypass surgery. According to her sister Nova Villa, the actress died at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City.
Tia Pusit, named Myrna Villanueva in real life, had the surgery last September 9 but had been in the hospital since April because of kidney failure and aortic aneurysm. Her family recently called for spiritual and financial support from friends while the comedienne battled medical complications, including a brain hemorrhage.
Tia Pusit was last seen on TV in Ikaw Lamang, playing a nanny and confidante to Kim Chiu’s character.
