Mark Zuckerberg donates $25 million to Centers for Disease Control Foundation to fight Ebola

People may not like him for the surprise (and cumbersome) changes he makes on his inescapable social media network but it seems like Mark Zuckerberg isn’t all that bad (like most people). On Tuesday he announced that he and his wife would donate $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Foundation to fight Ebola.

The Ebola outbreak has been on the news for months and in a Facebook post, Zuckerberg said, "We need to get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn’t spread further and become a long-term global health crisis that we end up fighting for decades at large scale, like HIV or polio."

World Health Organization Assistant Director General Bruce Aylward said on Tuesday that the death toll has now reached 4,447 from a total of 8,914 cases.
