Palawan tops Readers’ Choice Award by Condé Nast Traveler
Time to plan a vacation
Condé Nast Traveler magazine announced the winners of the Readers’ Choice Awards 2014 on Monday and topping one of the lists is Palawan. The island was also recently featured as Lonely Planet’s Best Value Destinations. According to Condé Nast, the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River’s status as a new wonder of the world drew the attention of travelers.
An earlier article in the magazine by Aubrey Daquinag shed a spotlight on El Nido-encouraging travelers to visit Nacpan Beach, island hop, or snorkel in its pristine waters.
Also on the list of the Top 30 Islands in the World is Boracay, modestly ranked at 12. The fine, powdery sand of White Sand Beach still earned positive remarks and the sunset on its waters was described as "transporting."
Among the top five were Bazaruto Archipelago (Mozambique), Kauai (Hawaii), Maui (Hawaii), and Kiawah Island (South Carolina).
