P-Noy gets sassy, tells Akbayan Rep. Walden Bello to run for president in 2016
Got complaints? Run for president!
It’s good to see that President Benigno Aquino III hasn’t lost his very distinct way of dealing with detractors. On Monday, GMA News reported that P-Noy has fired back against Akbayan Representative Walden Bello. Representative Bello had expressed his concerns about the government’s double standards on Sunday, stating that damning Vice President Binay while staying passive about DBM Secretary Butch Abad and the DAP didn’t seem fair.
"Ang dami niya talagang reklamo. Siguro ang mungkahi ko na lang sa kanya, kung palagay niya 'yung pananaw lang niya ang tama, sa 2016, may eleksyon ng presidente. Baka gusto niyang lumaban doon," P-Noy was quoted saying.
In an email to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Bello responded, "I respect the President and know he's doing his best. These decisions are tough, but leaders are there to make hard decisions. My appeal to him: Please don't shoot the messenger but listen to him."
Curiously, he also said that although he never considered running for president, he has never been one to walk away from a challenge.
"If what he's saying is he'll support me, then I'll have to think about it seriously, because I can't let him down, can I?" Bello added.
