Toy Story 4 has a director and a release date
But...we’re still crying over the last one!
Most people probably don’t know how to feel...and maybe this is because Toy Story 3 completely shattered their hearts. The only reason to make another film is to push us towards the realm of inconsolable crying....but apparently, they’re doing it.
According to Entertainment Weekly on Thursday, John Lasseter will be directing the fourth movie of the franchise, set to hit theaters on June 16, 2017. Rashida Jones and Will McCormack will be writing the script, but there’s no confirmation yet if Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and the rest of the voice actors of the beloved characters are joining the project.
The news was met with much anxiety and hesitation, but Lasseter said, "We love these characters so much, they are like family to us. We don't want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what's gone before."
