Don’t do this: Garbage thrown by a pedestrian halts MRT operations

Garbage doesn’t magically disappear, you know

On Sunday, a Manila Bulletin report served as a reminder that it’s not always the government’s fault. The MRT-3 operation was suspended after a garbage bag was found hanging on the train’s power lines.

"The garbage bag was discovered hanging on the overhead catenary wires, probably thrown from the pedestrian overpass in Malibay," MRT-3 officer-in-charge Renato San Jose said. He explained that "obstructions" such as those could cause interruptions in the train’s relay system and adviced the public to, well, not throw garbage wantonly.
