Agot Isidro’s household help falls for dugo-dugo gang modus, costs the actress P3 million in valuables
Never trust an anonymous caller telling you to destroy vaults
The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported on Monday that actress Agot Isidro lost P3 million in jewelry and cash after her household help fell prey to the modus operandi of the Dugo Dugo Gang.
According to the article, the actress’ helper Maynelin Umapas received a call Saturday afternoon, informing her that Isidro figured in an accident. The caller then said that a certain Allan Chua needed to be paid for the incident to be sorted out. The unidentified person on the other end of the line instructed Umapas to find her employer’s safety vault, break it, and then meet up with a "secretary" in Balintawak to hand over the valuables she gathered.
Upon returning home, Umapas learned that Isidro was at work the entire time. Scene of the crime operatives are now conducting further investigation.
