(SPOT.ph) It’s that time of the year after that time of the year. The Feast of the Black Nazarene (January 9) has been declared a holiday for the City of Manila by President Mayor Joseph Estrada, in anticipation of the heavy traffic caused by the event.
Similarly, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) released a traffic advisory on Monday to prepare people for the effect of the feast on traffic. There are eight maps currently available on the MMDA website to guide motorists to alternate routes for January 9.

A report by InterAksyon quoted an estimate by Monsignor Clemente Ignacio of the Quiapo Church, saying that 12 million devotees will be making their pilgrimage this year.
