Tarpaulins "welcoming" Pope Francis tagged as an "epal" move
Even His Holiness would say that there are better ways to spend money.
(SPOT.ph) We wonder if Pope Francis facepalms when he sees his supporters doing the exact opposite of what he’s trying to preach. He’s a pontiff who’s been trying to be less glitzy, but even though he’s been inviting people to live more simply, it seems that the subscribers cannot be reached.
Over the weekend, dzBB Super Radyo tweeted photos of something we’re quite used to on special occasions: tarpaulin banners. With love from someone in the Barangay/City Hall. It doesn’t have the face of Barangay Chairman Felibes "FPJ" Papa Jr., but it does have a Pepsi logo right next to His Holiness’ image.
Social media users who saw the photos didn’t just call it epal. They called it super epal. More than super:
The dzBB Twitter account reported that the tarps in Quirino Avenue were removed...but new ones have appeared in Pasay.
