1. Watch Kim Kardashian poke fun at her selfie-obsessed self

Kim Kardashian is putting her title as "famous person" to good use, with this new and hilarious Super Bowl commercial. She successfully mocks herself for phone service provider T-Mobile, and how the company is giving back unused data to its consumers. "Data you paid for that could be used to see my makeup or my backhand, my outfits, my vacations, and my outfits," she explains in a somber voice as dramatic music plays in the background.


2. P-Noy to deliver nationwide address on Maguindanao "misencounter"

On Wednesday night, President Benigno Aquino III will deliver a nationwide address on the Maguindanao clash involving members of the PNP-Special Action Force and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which left at least 44 dead. The televised "message to the nation" will be at 6:30 p.m.


3. Alphaland Corp. files a P100M damage suit vs. Mercado

Property developer Alphaland Corp. on Tuesday filed a P100 million damage suit against former Makati City Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado for his "false accusations" involving the corporation, Vice President Jejomar Binay, and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. In the civil suit, Alphaland sought P50 million in moral damages and P50 million in exemplary damages.


The company will also be filing a criminal case for libel once its chair, Roberto Ongpin, returns to the country in two weeks.



4. Set your watches: The Apple Watch is coming

For those eagerly awaiting Apple’s newest gadget, an April release date has finally been set. The Apple Watch starts at a hefty price of $349 and comes in a variety of styles and colors. The "smartwatch" will include iPhone-related features like on-watch calling and text message notifications.

5. Pacquiao, Mayweather finally in one stage-but at an NBA game

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are finally under one roof, but it’s not in the boxing ring. During Wednesday’s NBA game between the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks, the basketball court’s jumbotron promptly showed the two boxers in a split screen, probably the closest thing to their potential fight. The split screen came with the caption "Coming in 2015?"


6. Astronomers find solar system older than ours

An international team of astronomers have discovered an 11.2 billion-year-old solar system, the oldest ever found. The solar system contains five planets, all smaller than Earth. By comparison, our solar system is 4.5 billion years old.



7. Facebook says Tuesday’s crash wasn’t a cyberattack

After social-networking sites Facebook and Instagram crashed on Tuesday, the former has denied any cyberattack despite earlier reports on a hacker group claiming responsibility for the outage. "This was not the result of a third-party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems. Both services are back to 100 percent for everyone."


8. Chris Pratt could be your new Indiana Jones

Disney now has its eyes set on an Indiana Jones revival after buying the rights from Paramount Studios in 2013. Their possible swashbuckling, fedora-wearing archaeologist? Funny leading man Chris Pratt. He has pretty big shoes to fill, but given his filmography so far (Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy), it could work.
