The Palace is "not sure" of the whereabouts of suspended PNP Chief Purisima
Has he left the country?
(SPOT.ph) Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda was asked today in a press briefing about unverified information that PNP Director General Alan Purisima had flown to Saipan on Friday, January 30, and Lacierda said that they have to ask the Bureau of Immigration. He also added that he is "not sure" if the reports are accurate.
Purisima is not only tagged (by Senator Grace Poe) to explain his involvement in the Mamasapano "misencounter," he is also facing corruption charges regarding undeclared wealth. The clamor for his resignation grew in September, and with Oplan Wolverine making the headlines for all the wrong reasons, several groups are voting against his reinstatement as PNP Chief.
However, when Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares said Purisima "shouldn’t be allowed to return," he probably wasn’t referring to the suspended chief being a flight risk. Now we know that he wasn’t even on a watchlist.
