Heads up! Shortened MRT schedule is really happening this weekend
The MRT management is making time for repairs
(SPOT.ph) Commuters, this piece of bond paper posted on Quezon Avenue makes it official. Be reminded that on February 28 (Saturday), the last train departs from Taft at 8:20 p.m. and from North Avenue at 7:40 p.m. On March 1 (Sunday), the MRT opens at noon.
The schedule has been shortened to give way to repairs on 150 meters of train tracks. MRT management mulled over cutting operating hours on weekends in favor of rehabiliation efforts, in response to the alarming number of accidents involving the trains.
No announcements have been made about the succeeding weekends. But rest assured that MRT general Manager Ramon Buenafe (the man who told people to hold onto hand straps that aren’t there) has noticed the obvious. GMA News quoted him saying, "I've seen the condition of the tracks, and it's not good."
Yes, we know.
