Attention: Taxi flag-down rate back to P30 starting March 9
But of course there’s a catch.
(SPOT.ph) The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board announced on Friday that a "provisional" rollback will be implemented starting Monday for all taxis nationwide. We’re traveling back to 2010, with the flag-down rate back to P30. Here’s the catch: The meters will still say P40. So...good luck trying to talk to your cabbie about the new rates.
We’re not sure exactly how the authorities will enforce this rule, mostly because cab drivers hardly give change anyway. LTFRB Board Member Ariel Inton told dzBB that if the meter reads P100, we’re only supposed to pay P90.
If you’re a regular commuter, you know that manong driver will keep the change. This is assuming you weren’t desperate enough to say yes to an additional P50, which means that your P100 fare is actually P150.
Traffic kasi at walang pasahero pabalik, ma’am!
