(SPOT.ph) Labor Day is more than a simple public holiday for rest. It's also meant to celebrate hardworking Filipinos everywhere as we have been doing so for the past 121 years.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is putting up several job fairs across the country to help Filipinos seeking opportunities in top industries like BPO, manufacturing, finance and insurance, manpower services, and sales and marketing.
Over 70,000 jobs are up for grabs, according to the DOLE. Most vacancies are for customer service representatives, production worker/operators, financial consultants, service crew, and sales agents or sales clerks, but there should be more fields coming in.
List of Philippine job fairs on May 1
There will be more than 800 employers present at DOLE's 42 job fairs nationwide on May 1.
DOLE is advising job seekers to bring multiple copies of basic pre-employment requirements, such as resume or curriculum vitae, Certificate of Employment for those previously employed, diploma, and transcript of records.
Take note that job seekers could be asked to undergo initial interviews with the participating companies on the spot. It's also possible for some companies to extend a job offer on the same day an application is made.
