MRT-3 Rides are Free for from March 28 to April 30

Commuters can ride the MRT-3 for free for over a month starting Monday, March 28, the Department of Transportation said following the rehabilitation of the train line.

Free MRT-3 rides can be availed until April 30 in all stations, the transportation department said, without specifying specific times.

The MRT-3 train which traverses EDSA from Pasay City to Quezon City currently ferries about 280,000 passengers daily with social distancing measures in place according to Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade.

"Bago ako magsara, I’d like to announce that Sec. Tugade and I decided that the MRT-3 rides will be free, from March 28 to April 30, 2022," MRT management quoted President Rodrigo Duterte as saying in an event with Tugade.

Earlier, the train management said the railway line would be closed from Apr. 13 to 17 to give way to the annual Holy Week maintenance.
