Taiwan is No Longer Visa-Free for Philippine Passport Holders

Taiwan said it was temporarily suspending visa-free entry of Philippine passport holders as it revised entry rules for foreigners. 

This means Filipinos who are eyeing a Christmas season travel to Taiwan will have to reroute or take extra steps to secure a visa.

Aside from the Philippines, Taiwan also suspended visa-free travel of nationals from Chile, the Dominican Republic, Israel, Japan, Republic of Korea, Nicaragua, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei and Russia.

The suspension is up for review, GMA News Online quoted the Taiwan Foreign Ministry as saying.
