The Philippines on Friday logged 853 new COVID-19 infections, the lowest daily tally for 2022, as businesses call on employees to return to the office under Alert Level 1.
The day's tally brought total active cases to 50,230. The DOH also reported 1,062 new recoveries and 232 deaths reported.
Overall, a total of 3,665,747 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the pandemic began in March 2020, of which 3,558,747 have recovered and 56,770 died.
Alert Level 1 is the lowest set of restrictions under the five-tier alert-based COVID quarantines, which allows for the return to work, 100% capacity for public transportation, and face to face classes.
According to the Department of Labor and Employment, employees may choose to work remotely under Alert Level 1, as long as bosses are informed and company policy allows.
