BPI Head Office Wins Silver In 2023 Design Excellence Awards
Bank HQs are no longer the boring office spaces you thought they are.
(SPOT.ph) Just two years after undergoing a major facelift, the Bank of the Philippine Islands' (BPI) head office won the silver award in the Best Workplace Design category of the 2023 Design Excellence Awards. The bank proudly shared the news on Facebook while acknowledging that the design was created in collaboration with Aedas Singapore.
"In the era of making everything aesthetically pleasing, having a nice environment is essential as it inspires excellence and productivity," said BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco. "The team’s dedication, creative prowess, collaborative energy, and commitment to excellence have raised our workspace standards to new heights.”
BPI's Award-Winning Look
The new BPI head office was designed by Aedas Singapore, a leading international architecture and design firm. It will be remembered that it was in 2022 when BPI's brutalist HQ along Ayala Avenue underwent a facelift, with its old building replaced with a 45-storey office tower. The sleek new building is even outfitted in an energy-saving glass facade.
The new office, which is said to have cost more than P13.5 billion to complete, has an over-89,000-sqm floor area, at least 60,000 of which is open for leasing. The lower levels hosts state-of-the-art amenity retail spaces, events spaces, landscaped areas, an amphitheater, and restaurants.

The 2023 Design Excellence Awards
The 2023 Design Excellence Awards, organized by the Interior Design Confederation Singapore, recognizes individuals and firms across the Asia-Pacific region that have contributed to "good design thinking and visualizing the future of spatial design."
The annual competition has two sections — the Interior Design Excellence Awards, which highlights projects built by industry professionals, under which BPI won their silver award; and the Spatial Design Awards, which features completed academic projects by design students.
BPI competed against 24 other finalists in the Best Workplace Design category. The winning projects were selected by a panel of renowned interior design professionals, like Barbara Barry, Colin Seah, Thomas Pheasant, Marc Almagro, Amy Picanco and Cameron Woo.
