Around 400 People Stranded in Metro Manila Have Headed Home

Over 800 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) stuck in Metro Manila have been moved to Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, the Palace said on June 15.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the Department of Interior and Local Government reported that it has assisted 379 out of the 764 LSIs as of June 14. The stranded individuals were staying at the Villamor Air Base Elementary School and the Philippine State College of Aeronautics.

Of the remaining 385 LSIs, 300 would head for Davao City and General Santos City via plane or ship.

While stranded, the government provided sanitary kits and sleeping kits to the LSIs who spent days outside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport waiting for domestic flights to their homes.
