Six areas will be placed under COVID-19 Alert Level 3 starting Jan. 28, Malacañang said Thursday in a bid to slow the spread of the more contagious omicron coronavirus variant.
The following areas will be escalated to Alert Level 3 from Jan. 28 to Feb. 15:
- Palawan
- Camiguin
- Davao Occidental
- Dinagat Islands
- Tawi-Tawi
- Sulu
The Philippines has been seeing a slight decline in COVID-19 cases over the past few days. On Thursday, the country reported 18,191 new virus infections.
