Missed Korea? Visa-Free Entry to Jeju, Yangyang Starts June 1

Filipinos can travel to South Korea visa-free starting June 1 via entry through Jeju Island and the Yangyang International Airport, its embassy said Tuesday as tourism bounces back worldwide.

South Korea said it would resume visa-free entry for Jeju Island on Wednesday after it was suspended on Feb. 4, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For Filipinos planning to enter South Korea via  Yangyang International Airport, group tours of at least five or more people are required.

Areas that can be visited according to the South Korean Embassy are Gangwon Province, and the Seoul Metropolitan Area.

Visa-free entry via Yangyang International Airport is from June 1, 2022 until May 31, 2023.

Here are the requirements:

  1. Comply with quarantine measures such as being fully vaccinated before travel.
  2. Arrive and depart Yangyang airport on the same flight as a group.
  3. Agree to be accompanied by a local staff and to pay the service fee.
  4. Agree to provide information necessary for our group entry such as personal information

Earlier, South Korea said it would resume tourist visa applications for Filipinos on June 1 too.
