Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos on Monday addressed claims that his family was in possession of the fabled Yamashita treasure and the so-called "Tallano gold", saying that he had not seen any of these riches.
Marcos' candidacy had revived interest in the Yamashita treasure, which was the subject of various treasure hunts in the Philippines and abroad.
"Baka may alam sila, sabihan ako. Kailangan ko yung gold. Wala pa akong nakikitang gold," he said in jest.
In a 2018 interview also in One News, Marcos' sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, also said she had "never seen" such treasures. "There was a great deal of well, demonizing I'm afraid, that everything has been stolen," she said.
