Our Favorite Reactions to FACEBOOK's New Corporate Logo
No need to yell, Facebook.
(SPOT.ph) Is it really too far a reach to say that Facebook is an integral part of daily life? The social-media giant is now a company that also owns and operates other platforms, like Instagram and Whatsapp, and it wants the entire world to know. They've recently unveiled a new logo for the parent company, featuring sleek new boomer-friendly all caps and some relatively questionable color combinations, which will show up in the "coming weeks" on all the brands it currently operates.
The new corporate FACEBOOK logo's à la 80s disco color change pays homage to the big three apps it owns: blue for Facebook, green for WhatsApp, and a sudden pinkish gradient for Instagram. Amid all the controversies (i.e. privacy issues, political ads, the super-important banning of "thirst emojis") the social-media behemoth is facing, this move has resulted in some very strong reactions mostly from—surprise, surprise—millennials.
"The new logo is an affront to millennial and Gen-Z sensibilities. All-caps is often read as shouting or aggressive—the last thing I need is Facebook shouting at me," said Juliana Kaplan of Business Insider in an opinion piece. And following the "OK, boomer" zeitgeist, we round up some of the best reactions from the people who may not have to use FACEBOOK's products, but are certainly going to be affected by it.
Thank you, Bette Midler.
But hey, at least they have a new logo!
Honestly, you're already pretty hard to ignore anyway.
Right click + save for future use.
So much easier to say things to a dead screen.
As the millennials say, "thicc."
Smart marketing move.
We wonder how much they paid the logo artist.
Great work on the new logo, guys!
