As the leading network's former newscaster Korina Sanchez is currently preaching on her Instagram replies, it won't be long until wrongs are righted. The network has been on a months-long struggle to renew its legislative franchise through Congress, a battle that's currently at a standstill after the National Telecommunications Commission issued a cease and desist order on May 5, a day after their franchise's expiry.Â
People have taken to social media to express their views on the issue—#DefendPressFreedom has been Twitter's steady top trend since the network went off-air on the night of May 4—but Sanchez has definitely, well, shined on Instagram. "Sino na kaya ngayon ang Diyos ni [Solicito General Jose Calida]? Pilit pinapasarado ang ABS-CBN kahit labag sa batas? Kailan at paano kaya pwede ipakulong ang mga totoong abusado?" she wrote on her feed. And boy, did the comments section light up. Sanchez took her time to reply to commenters' thoughts and opinions, and people couldn't help but notice the former ABS-CBN newscaster's not-backing-down attitude.
