NAIA, Mactan-Cebu Remove Entrance Security Checks in Some Terminals
Bags will only be checked before boarding.
(SPOT.ph) Travelers departing from Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Mactan-Cebu International Airport can now board their flights with ease as security checks at the entrance gates have been removed in certain terminals, authorities said.
The Manila International Airport Authority on December 15 said it has removed the initial security screening at the NAIA Terminal 2, which operates domestic and international flights of Philippine Airlines.
This means that carry-on and checked luggage will only be screened after the check-in process just before passengers board their flights.

The removal of the initial security screening at the NAIA Terminal 2 entrance came after the pilot implementation of the same policy at NAIA Terminal 1 last December 1.
Mactan-Cebu has also implemented the same procedure at the Terminal 1 North and South Wing departures for all domestic passengers starting December 13. The airport's Terminal 2 has been doing the same initial process for international departures since 2018.
NAIA is targeting to clear its Terminal 3 and 4 of x-ray machines at the gates by December 21.
