(SPOT.ph) The Philippines has a long way to go when it comes to green transportation. Still, there are options. Take for example the Community Optimized Managed Electric Transport (COMET), a transportation company that operates relatively more eco-friendly commuter buses across the country.
Each air-conditioned unit can seat 30 passengers and features Wi-Fi, CCTV, onboard video display, and GPS tracking. COMET buses are also mobility-friendly, with features that allow people with disabilities to hop on board.
In-app membership tokens will be used to pay for the rides, which can be topped up through GCash or Shopee. This means that the only way to purchase bus tickets is through the GET-PASS app. You'll need to create an account then log in to join the relevant organization from the list. From there, a QR code will be generated, which will be scanned when getting on and off the electric bus.
GET-PASS is available for download on iOS and Android.
