These EDSA Busway Stations Have Fixed Elevators

(SPOT.ph) For years, commuters using the EDSA Bus Carousel have had to deal with steep staircases and exposed walkways—which made the beginning and end of a workday for many feel like, well, an uphill battle. Now, some long-overdue fixes are finally in place. 

A total of 18 elevators across six stations with tall footbridges have finally been repaired. Each station now has three working elevators to help commuters—especially senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities (PWD)—navigate the elevated platforms with more ease.

EDSA Bus Carousel stations with working elevators

According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the newly fixed elevators can be found at the following stations:

• Monumento
• Bagong Barrio
• Balintawak
• SM North EDSA
• Philam
• Guadalupe

The repairs were prompted by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.’s directive to the DOTr to improve accessibility in public transport, especially for vulnerable groups. 

The EDSA Bus Carousel runs from Monumento in Caloocan City to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in Parañaque City.
