Crazy Rich Asians Author Kevin Kwan Is Coming to the Philippines
You still have time to read the series!
(SPOT.ph) You may have heard of the book Crazy Rich Asians in one way another. You may have seen it from a friend who's lugging the book around, a loner in a café reading intently, or—of course—from Kris Aquino who just can't stop talking about her rumored role in the film adaptation. Fans would definitely be delighted with Fully Booked's latest announcement: Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan is coming to the Philippines!
In a Facebook post on July 3 by Fully Booked, Kwan confirmed that he'll be here from August 18 to 22. He'll be doing book signings, readings, and discussions about the film version of the book series, directed by Jon M. Chu. He was last seen on Philippine shores in 2015 for the book tour of China Rich Girlfriend.
Kwan, who was born and raised in Singapore, moved to the U.S. during his high school years. He majored in creative writing at the University of Houston and later pursued a BFA at Parsons School of Design. His novel Crazy Rich Asians came out in 2013 and was followed by the sequels China Rich Girlfriend in 2015 and Rich People Problems in 2017. The series revolves around the lives of five main characters—Rachel Chu, Nicholas Young, Eleanor Young, Astrid Teo, and Edison Cheng—and everything that happens when a high-profile wedding looms.
