(SPOT.ph) The Cambridge Dictionary has updated its definition of "man" and "woman" to effectively recognize transgender persons, showing how language is evolving with a society that is more accepting of members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
A woman, according to Cambidge, is "an adult who lives and identifies as a female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth.” This opens the door to transwomen who were registered as men at birth.
Conversely, a man is an "an adult who lives and identifies as a male though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth," Cambridge said.
