NU Pep Squad named UAAP Cheerdance champs for fourth straight year

Their winning streak continues.


( The University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 79 Cheerdance Competition was held at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, November 19. This year, only seven schools participated in the Cheerdance Competition (CDC), as the UP Pep Squad opted to sit it out. Nevertheless, a sizable crowd showed up at the coliseum to watch their favorites perform crowd-pleasing routines.


Then again, some teams pleased the crowd more than others. 


The National University Pep Squad was named CDC champion for the fourth straight year. Decked out in Star Wars-inspired costumes, the group aced the execution of their intricate routines. The Far Eastern University Cheering Squad was the first runner-up, while the Adamson University Pep Squad was the second runner-up.


The National University (NU) Pep Squad also got the Yamaha Best Toss Award and the Jollibee Over-the-Top Pyramid Award.


NU was likewise named the champ in the Group Stunts Competition. With this, NU also took home a P25,000 cash prize from Hana Shampoo. Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe took the first runner-up honors, while the Far Eastern University Cheering Squad was the second runner-up.
