(SPOT.ph) Condé Nast Traveler annually publishes its Gold List, a selection of resorts and hotels that are highly recommended by the international lifestyle travel magazine. Their editors and contributors consider only the "uniqueness of hotels" and how they are "stalwarts of authenticity in the age of global homogeneity." For Editor's Choice this 2017, our very own El Nido Resorts on Pangulasian Island made the cut for two lists, published in December 2016: Favorite Hotels in the World and Favorite Beach Resorts in the World. No biggie!
This eco-luxury island resorts provides front row seats to pristine waters and has a tropical forest for a background. It's a bonus that Pangulasian Island on Bacuit Bay in El Nido, Palawan has breathtaking views of both the sunrise and sunset, plus a clear sky by night time. Spread across 750-meter stretch of white sand beach are 42 villas all built in contemporary Filipino architecture.
It also follows a strict sustainability policy of "providing leisurely, engaging, and educational experiences and services to all [their] guests in a manner that has the least impact on the environment and promotes respect for El Nido’s local people and culture." They have their own sewage treatment plant and desalination plant, implement waste segregation, and use water saving devices such as a rainwater catchment system.
By the way, this is not the first time that this group of island resorts has been recognized internationally. Among its accolades are: World’s Best Beach Hotel in the World Boutique Hotel Awards 2016; Best Hidden Gem in the SpaFinder Wellness Travel Awards 2016; and Asia’s Responsible Tourism Award in the World Travel Awards 2014, among others.
El Nido Resorts can also be found on Apulit Island, Miniloc Island, and Lagen Island. For more information, visit El Nido Resorts' website.
