Palawan's hidden islands named "Most Beautiful" by Condé Nast Traveler

We're not surprised!

(SPOT.ph) Palawan has been lauded time and again as one of the best islands in the world (if not the best) by international travel websites and magazines. Of its many beaches and islets, it is El Nido that has earned the top spot, thanks to the white-sand beaches, coral reefs, and towering limestone cliffs that define the island.

But Condé Nast Traveler, an international lifestyle travel magazine, declares another island group in Palawan as a possible rival of El Nido in being the world's "Most Beautiful" destination—the Calamian Islands (a.k.a. Calamianes). It is comprised of Busuanga Island, Coron Island, Calauit Island, and a few more.

"This cluster of islands hugging the South China Sea is a vast playground of stunning waterborne landscapes and dive sites," writer Lester V. Ledesma said in an article on February 9. Aside from karst limestone formations, Calamianes also boasts its own wildlife sanctuary (with giraffes!) on Calauit Island, the luxurious La Estancia Busuanga Resort, and World War II shipwrecks perfect for diving. It’s less accessible compared to El Nido (but worth it!), so you can expect solitude upon reaching the island.

Now you know where to go if you want a laid-back vacation.
