(SPOT.ph) After sitting out the 2016 UAAP Cheerdance Competition as a matter of principle, the University of the Philippines Pep Squad makes a big comeback this year. The team is prepared with a well-thought out routine, skills harnessed after months of training, and even awards from international dance tilts under its belt. Now bringing these into the mats of the 2017 UAAP Cheerdance Competition, the UP Pep Squad is more confident than ever.
Even the Philippine Collegian, the state university's official organ, started throwing some major shades on Twitter minutes before the big dance event of the year.
#UAAPCDC2017 Order of performances: NU, DLSU, ADU, FEU, UE, UP, UST, ADMU. In history, no team who went first has ever won the championship. #UPFight #TaasKamao #KwentongIsko

What to expect at #UAAPCDC2017: NU to go "all-out" for a historic 5-peat with mermaidy theme. Let's just hope there's nothing fishy involved this year. IYKWWM. #UPFight #TaasKamao #KwentongIsko

What to expect at #UAAPCDC2017: High probability of bird sounds to coincide with Ateneo and Adamson tosses. #UPFight #TaasKamao

What to expect at #UAAPCDC2017: With nothing to lose, Ateneo is most likely to go political. Hopefully, UP will do the same AND win back the title. #StopTheKillings #TaasKamao #UPFight #KwentongIsko

What to expect at #UAAPCDC2017: FEU and Adamson both look strong this year, but they're in the same "genre" as NU and probably would find it difficult to stand out. #TaasKamao #UPFight #KwentongIsko

The UP Pep Squad is considered a team to reckon with in the annual Cheerdance Competition. It has a total of eight championship titles (tied with the University of Santo Tomas' Salinggawi) and a total of 20 straight podium finishes. Will UP get back the title this year?
