Heads Up, Commuters: You Can Catch Free Bus Rides From PITX

For those going to and from PITX.

(SPOT.ph) Although the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange looked promising before it opened, its services has consistently been receiving complaints from commuters once it started operating, especially for those coming from Cavite. One of the complaints is the lack of available transfer trips to and from the terminal.

Currently, there are free shuttle rides for commuters operational since last year, with three buses from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the Philippine Coast Guard servicing the following routes:

SM Mall of Asia to PITX

  • Schedule: 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
  • Pick-up point: MOA Loading Area (near MOA Arena)

Baclaran to PITX

  • Schedule: 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
  • Pick-up point: Baclaran Footbridge, in front of Baclaran Church

Meanwhile, the Junior Chamber International Senate Philippines will soon be providing free bus rides starting February 14 for commuters going to and from Lawton, Baclaran, and Pasay.

According to a report by the Philippine Star, at least six air-conditioned buses will be fielded to help "alleviate the plight of Cavite residents." Domingo Roque, president of the Junior Chamber International Senate (JCIS), Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade and Megawide Corporate Foundation Inc. recently signed a memorandum of agreement to provide free bus rides in designated areas going to the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.

The project, which is dubbed as "SerBus: A Service to Humanity Project," will be servicing commuters going to and from Lawton, Baclaran, and Pasay; as well as commuters coming from Monumento going to EDSA, Baclaran, and back.
