Heads Up: Estrella Service Road to Close Starting March 23
It's to make way for the Rockwell Bridge repairs.
(SPOT.ph) Everyone knows how difficult it can be to get around Makati due to the ever-present traffic jams all over its roadways. It looks like things could get worse though, as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority just announced the two-year closure of the Estrella Service Road starting March 23, 11 p.m. This it to make way for the rehabilitation of Estrella-Pantaleon or Rockwell Bridge.
In a press briefing, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that the closure will start from Gumamela Street heading to J.P. Rizal Avenue. Around 500 vehicles are known to use the road per hour. Motorists are advised to take an alternate route: For those going from EDSA or Rockwell, take a right turn at Gumamela Street and a left at Camia Street to J.P. Rizal Avenue.
The road will reopen along with the bridge once the repairs are completed. The Department of Public Works and Highways plans to finish construction by 2021.
