Here's What Time You Should Avoid NLEX During the SEA Games Opening
TBH, we suggest avoiding the highway entirely during the event.
(SPOT.ph) With the start of the 30th South East Asian Games slated for November 30, the entire nation is getting hyped up for the competition and not-hyped-at-all for the congestion it's sure to bring. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has asked motorists—specifically trucks—to avoid the North Luzon Expressway from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on November 30, as the games' opening ceremonies will be held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, located a few kilometers away from the Bocaue Interchange.
"'Yon lang naman po 'yong mga oras na kailangan tandaan ng ating mga kababayan para ho makaiwas sila sa pagbigat ng daloy ng trapiko," Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson Celine Pialago was quoted as saying in a report by GMA News Online.
Aside from the opening day, the MMDA has already announced proposed traffic plans for the duration of the competition from November 30 to December 11. A stop-and-go scheme is planned along EDSA and expected chokepoints have been declared.
To make way for the expected convoys, the agency is also looking into suspending classes of schools near the affected areas from December 2 to December 6. If only we could all just stay home during the games.
