For a Good Cause: KonMari Your Bookshelves This Christmas

Here's where you can bring your pre-loved books.

(SPOT.ph) A 2018 global survey by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development showed that the Philippines has the lowest score when it comes to reading comprehension. The same study also said that at least 60% of students in the country agree "intelligence is something that cannot change very much." But with book drives—like the Summit Christmas Book Drive, you can share your love for the written word with those who need it most.

Until January 31, 2020, you can bring new or pre-loved books to add to the Christmas tree-inspired book stack at any of the Summit Hotels and Resorts properties.

The campaign was launched on November 15 along with tree-lighting events across all six Summit hotels in Greenhills, New Manila, Quezon City, Tagaytay, Tacloban, and Cebu. Each of the hotels partnered with a local foundation as the project’s beneficiaries: an LGU-nominated organization for Summit Ridge Tagaytay, SOS Children’s Villages International for Summit Hotel Tacloban, Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary for Summit Galleria Cebu and Summit Circle Cebu, and Giving Hope Foundation for Summit Hotel Magnolia and Summit Hotel Greenhills.

The project was also inspired by the late JG Summit Holdings founder John Gokongwei Jr., who was known for his love for books and drive for nation-building through scholarships.

Summit Christmas Book Drive runs until January 31, 2020 at Summit Hotel Greenhills, Summit Hotel Tacloban, Summit Ridge Tagaytay, Summit Hotel Magnolia, Summit Circle Cebu, and Summit Galleria Cebu. For more information, visit Summit Hotels and Resorts' website.
