Young Farmers From Benguet Go Online to Sell Produce
You can get a set of vegetables for only P200.
(SPOT.ph) The Philippines' agricultural sector has been heavily affected by the ongoing quarantine. Farmers were already struggling pre-COVID, and the compromised supply-and-demand and transportation restrictions made things even harder for them. Hoping to make ends meet, a group of young farmers aged 18 to 26 set up an Instagram account to facilitate delivery of their produce from the mountains of Benguet to homes in Metro Manila. You can order fresh crops, vegetables, and fruits from the highlands through Igorot Fresh Produce.
The team of nine, according to him, has roots from the Igorot ethnic group except for him. Camacho is originally a student in Manila, but had to stop his studies and go to Benguet to help the local community amid the pandemic.
