(SPOT.ph) Following Metro Manila's shift to the stricter Alert Level 3, Metro Manila's mayors have "agreed in principle" to restrict movement and activities of unvaccinated people in the National Capital Region. This was announced by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos in a press briefing on Monday morning, January 3.
"Para kang nag-ECQ only for the unvaccinated," Abalos said. These guidelines, he clarified, are only temporary during Alert Level 3 (or higher).
According to a report by the Department of Health on January 2, at least 85% of patients in Metro Manila who are admitted in intensive care units are unvaccinated.
These are the guidelines for unvaccinated individuals in Metro Manila:
- Should remain in their residences at all times, except for the procurement of essential goods and services
- Individual outdoor activities within the neighborhood are allowed.
- They are barred from entering restaurants, for both indoor and outdoor dining.
- They are not allowed to go to malls, hotels, event venues, and sports and country club.
- They are not allowed to go on leisure trips using public transportation.
- Unvaccinated people are required to take RT-PCR test every two weeks at their own expense and must present a negative COVID-19 test result before being admitted to on-site work.
Abalos explained the MMDA is still finalizing the official list, but they're already providing the mentioned guidelines to allow local government units to prepare for implementation. He also said that individuals who received only their first dose are counted as unvaccinated, but this has yet to be settled in the final guidelines.
